Welcome to the ELaTe blog!
From the very inception of this project, we imagined this blog as a space open to public discussion and dissemination on the most significant developments in the field of Life Sciences, their social and political impact, and the role of Europe in governing this transformation. This seems even more urgent now, as the pandemic exposes the fragility of our societies, calls for a rethinking of the connection between individual and collective rights and responsibilities, and demands a bold and widespread response from citizens, lest democratic institutions are caught between populism and technocracy.
We will be posting comments, updates, reviews, announcements, reports from ELaTe activities and events, projects we’re working on, and all things Life Sciences, BioLaw, Law, Technology & Society, etc.
